Sweetwater Driving Directions

We are so glad that you will be giving Sweetwater Cottage a try and we are so excited to be hosting you. Make sure you plan on getting there before dark! The area can sometimes be darker than a coal mine. The only light you will have is what you might bring with you (vehicle, flashlight, cellphone, candles, Bic Lighter, etc.)!!

Special Note to Wives – Important!!! Please keep this paper handy because your husband will insist on using the GPS which will take you down a really bad road.

From New Market, VA (Rt 81)

1. Having survived you drive on Rt 81, take Exit 264, East on Rt 211, New Market, Timberville, Luray
2. You are in New Market. Set your GPS to waypoint Shenandoah River Outfitters, 6502 S Page Valley Rd, Luray, VA 22835
3. Follow signs to Rt 211 East to Luray.
4. From the intersection of Rt 11 and Rt 211, proceed East on Rt 211 up over the mountain to Cooters (Yes, Dukes of Hazzard) at the Salem intersection (8.6 mi).
5. Turn Left on Egypt Bend Road (Rt 615) at Cooters Store (Great Lunch!)
6. Proceed 5.7 miles to the STOP Sign at the intersection of Ft. Valley Road. Egypt
   Bend Road will become Page Valley Road at the next intersection (6.3 miles from Cooters)
   Pickup directions at 5** below:

From Warrenton, VA (Rt 211)

1. Take Rt. 211 West to Rt. 340 exit (Business) South (Luray) (42.8 mi)
2. Left on Rt 340 (Business) S. (to Luray) to Mechanics Street (0.45 mi)

From Front Royal, VA (Rt 340):
1.  Rt 340 South to the Rt 211 Overpass, Luray VA
2. Continue Rt 340 (Business) S. (to Luray) to Mechanics Street (0.45 mi)

…THEN
3. Right on Rt 675, Mechanics Street, to Rt. 684 (3.5 miles)
(Note: Mechanics Street becomes Bixler’s Ferry Road)
4. Go across Bixler’s Bridge and turn Right on Rt 684, Page Valley Road

5. **At the T intersection at Bixler’s Bridge, Reset Odometer to “0” and take Page Valley Rd (Rt. 684) North to River Water Dr. (8.4 miles) (take right fork).
Note: You will pass Shenandoah River Outfitters on your right at approximately 6.4 miles.
Go OFF GPS and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS BELOW. Do not turn Right on Lorelei Ln. off Page Valley road!!!)
6. Bear right on River Water Drive (still 684) to Right on Lorelei Ln (0.6 Miles)
7. Take first right through Estate Gate, RV sites start on your immediate left and the Cottage is the first house on the left.
